Florida Soars over Savannah 34-6

by Justin Moses

The Florida Falcons flew into Savannah, Georgia Saturday June 5th for the first round of the 2021 IAFL Playoffs with focus and determination. Savannah and Team Florida had previously split the season match ups going into the playoffs. The Florida Falcons defense set the tone early stopping Savannah on their first drive of the game. Defensive ends Trevon Byrd, Jamal Vickerson and Marcus Regular put pressure on Savannah's QB all night long, with multiple sacks, strips and a scoop and score by DE Trevon Byrd.

Florida's offense proved to be too much for Savannah with a stable of running backs, receivers Robert Thomas, Devin Johnson and Austin Indingaro with Quarterback Ulysses Tobler orchestrating scoring drives all night long. All 3 receivers for Team Florida found the endzone Saturday night. " We knew coming into tonight that our defense carried us all season long, but it was up to our offense to step up and score points and sustain some drives. Tobler did a great job managing the offense tonight and our defense played lights out. We have some things to fix, but I'm excited to be moving on to face the Raiders (Savannah) next weekend. I'm very proud of the team tonight." stated Head Coach Justin Moses
