The Florida Falcons traveled to Savannah Georgia Saturday May 8th to take on their division foe Savannah Falcons. On the line was divisional playoff positioning and the last regular season game for Team Florida.

Florida received the opening kickoff to start the first half and quickly fell behind 2-0 when a punt snap sailed over punter Tannor Smoot's head into the endzone for the Savannah Falcons. After a couple series for each team, Team Florida finally got on the scoreboard when place kicker Jim Adkins hits a 31 yard field goal to put the Florida Falcons up 3-2.

Savannah after a couple more possessions would find the endzone once again to go up 9-3 over visiting Florida. On the very next series quarterback Boobie Tobler nursing a hamstring injury would find receiver Robert Thomas hauling in a tipped pass that he would take into the endzone for the 57 yard score. Kicker Jim Adkins would add on the extra point to make it 10-9 Florida.

After a 3 and out by the Savannah Falcons, the Florida offense started to put together a drive that would take the ball deep into Savannah territory right before the half. Quarterback Boobie Tobler would hit a wide open Tight End Richard Buford for a 14 yard touchdown to put the Florida Falcons up 17-9 at Halftime.

The second half would be a back and forth battle with both teams having opportunities to score with team Florida losing the ball on a fumble on what looked to be a promising drive for a score, but at the end of 3 quarters the Florida Falcons held a 17-9 lead going into the 4th quarter.

Savannah QB George Grant would find a streaking receiver down the left side of Florida's defense to strike quickly and adding a 2 point conversion to knot the score at 17-17 early in the 4th quarter. Team Florida would have another shot at a score driving deep into Savannah territory only to lose the ball on an errant pitch which would be covered up by Savannah.

Savannah QB George Grant and running back Jonathan Deloach would lead their team down the field late in the 4th quarter and would add a go ahead touchdown on a slant pass to put Savannah up 23-17 with under 2 minutes to play in the game.

Team Florida would put together a drive with QB Boobie Tobler hitting receivers Austin Indingaro and Mareio Thomas for first down catches into Savannah territory and running back Jerard LaNoir adding some nice runs along the way. Florida would once again find themselves in scoring position only to have it slip through there hands on a fumble to end their drive and the game. Final score Savannah Falcons 23 Florida Falcons 17.
