Falcons get first win in tough Division Battle

by Justin Moses

The Florida Falcons defeated divisional opponent the visiting Savannah Falcons Saturday night 16-9 for their first win of the 2021 IAFL Season. The Florida Falcons were lead by quarterback Austin Indingaro and a tenacious attacking defense. Defensive ends Akeel Williams and Trevon Byrd lead the defensive attack along with linebacker Warren Medlock, defensive backs Kapo Springette, Randall Richburg and Mel Shiloh to hold the visiting Savannah Falcons to one offensive touchdown.

Offensively the Florida Falcons used a stable of running backs and a beefed up offense line to wear down Savannah in the ground game. Running Backs John Singleton, Javon Brown and Ty Petterson ground out yards for the offense in a wet, rainy game at Ridgeview High School. Punter Tannor Smoot did a great job all night flipping the field with his punting duties.

The Florida Falcons hope to continue improving this week against the upstart Effingham Outlaws Saturday April 17th at SOS Academy in Jacksonville, Florida. Kickoff is slated for 5pm.
